A Tribute to Mommies - Part 3

You looked away for just 2 seconds.
In honor of Mother’s Day I’ve decided to write a tribute to all moms.  This will be a four part blog about all the different kinds of mommies.  I want to honor each group and point out what is hard about what they do.  A lot of times each group of mommies thinks their jobs are harder for one reason or another.  But everyone’s job is hard as well as rewarding.

Part 3 – The Work at Home Mom

So this by far is the most envied mommy.  Every mommy wishes this was what she could do, except maybe the mommies who are work at home mommies!

In the last two weeks I’ve started doing some online work at home to bring an extra income into the house.  By no means would I ever consider this a real job because I can put it down anytime I want and do as much or as little work as I want.  But it’s still really hard!  I have a toddler climbing on me all the time.  Even as a type this she’s trying to sit on my left arm, I’ve actually gotten quite good at typing while she sits on me (and I don’t mean on my lap).

My experience is nothing like a mom who has a real business that she has to run from out of her home.  Considering how hard it is for me just to get an hour in here and there I can’t imagine how women who need to put in 8 hours or more do it.  They must have all the bad parts of being both a stay at home mom and a working mom, but they also have to deal with kids while they work on top of all of it.

You poor poor women.

So, today I want to give tribute to all those lovely women who work from home.  I don’t know anyone especially to mention in that area but I do have some of what you might call part-time work from home mommies; Mandy Horetski and Heather Costa.
