Well lets start with my progress, drum roll please!
I weighed in this morning at 205.2! Yay! I was hoping to lose 1 lb a week and I lost 3 this week :-) They always say it comes off faster though the fatter you are and the earlier in the diet.
How did I do this week on my diet and exercise?
Well, this was a crazy week, which I plan to blog about later. My 14 month old was very sick and my husband had the flu. My daughter refused to sleep unless I was holding her. So, basically I went 48 hours with a few cat naps here and there. Since I was so tired there certainly was no exercising or eating. Honestly the not really eating is probably why I lost so much weight this week. I did cheat on my diet this week. One was the accepted to cheat of having pancakes one morning. But I bought ice cream too. Which is strange because ice cream isn't even a guilty pleasure of mine, but I do love Ben N Jerry's!
So, the sad thing is that I failed in a lot of regards this week. I didn't exercise, and my eating wasn't really up to par. But, I didn't drink any sugary soda's, no matter how tired I got.
Well, at least I lost some weight this week, lol. Oh, and now I have the flu, so maybe I'll lose even more due to lack of eating!
Wish me luck this week. I hope to get back on the exercise horse as soon as the flu is over. At least the not eating is helping to make my meal portions smaller!

Time to lose this weight - Laying the ground work
I'm starting the year off right!
I'm going to finally lose this weight that I put on while I was pregnant and quit smoking. When I met my husband I weighed 162 lbs. I was very active and exercised every day. I stopped exercising when I met Tom in August of 2008 (you know how it is when you fall in love). I also started eating richer foods, because he is an amazing cook!
When I got pregnant I weighed 175 lbs. I was also a smoker! I was doing really good at maintaining my weight but I finally managed to quit smoking when I was 4 months pregnant (I know, don't bully me, it was really hard. And Kaylee came out just fine). Everything went down hill from there. I was hungry all of the time and very tired. Every time I tried to exercise I got winded within 5 minutes. When I had Kaylee in November of 2009 I weighed 218 lbs!
I was very sick after I had her. I couldn't eat and I couldn't keep anything down. This went on for two months. I went in for a 6 week check up and I couldn't believe that I was 178 lbs. That shouldn't be healthy! I know I had a baby, but I shouldn't have lost 40 lbs in 2 months. And just to show you how bad things were with my midwives, they were not concered. Because I was breast feeding they claimed it was okay, but they told me to eat more.
Well, I finally stopped feeling sick but I was in so much pain and exhausted all the time. I was sitting on my butt all of the time. It didn't take long for all the that flab after having Kaylee to turn into fat. A year later and I weighed in 2 weeks ago at 211 lbs.
Here are my goals. My first goal is to hit pre-pregnancy weight of 175 lbs. I want to be healthy, so I'm only planning to lose 5 lbs a month. So that should take me 7 months. My second goal is to get to 150 lbs. That is another 25 lbs and should take me another 5 months. I'll be happy when I hit 150. Buuuut, in all honestly I would like to below what is considered acceptable for my height of 5ft 1in. My only problem is that even at my skinniest (high school) I still weighed in at 145 lbs. I'm a very muscular girl. But I'm going to attempt to get to 135 lbs. This will probably be harder if it's possible at all. I only plan on pulling off 2 lbs a month, which means it will take me another 8 months to lose 15 lbs.
Mini-Goal - Lose 15 lbs by May for my trip with my bff's from high school to see Les Mis
Reward - A dress to wear to the theater!
Goal #1 - Lose 35 lbs by August of this year.
Reward - Buy a new purse, shoes and undies from Vicky C's!
Goal #2 - Lose a total of 60 lbs by next January.
Reward - New Clothes!!!
Goal #3 - Lose a total of 75 lbs by August of 2012.
Reward - Have a piece of cake. Just kidding :-) Probably some more clothes!
How am I going to do this you may ask? That is a lot of freakin' weight!!!
Well, this blog is part of it. It's not just for my weight loss, I'm going to blog other stuff too. But I'm hoping this will help embarrass me into losing the weight. How embarrassing will it be if I come to do my weekly (I will blog my weight and weekly accomplishments and failure's every Sunday) and I've actually gained weight. If I cheated then everyone will know and hopefully this will help motivate me!
Also, good old fashion dieting via calorie counting. I hate fad diets. I don't want to make a life style change like cutting out carbs or eating only celery sticks. I just want to eat right and eat less. I am using meal replacement, because it's useful for kid watching. Its' really hard to eat right when you have a 14 month climbing on you all day. Most of my meals are taken standing in the kitchen. Also, since I'm home all day the tendency to overeat is there. Finally, I have to have caffeine. I have no icdea hopw other moms could possibly survive without due to lack of sleep.
So, I'm using Slimfast. I tried it last year and it's a very inexpensive meal replacement that works well for me. A 190 calorie shake for breakfast, a 100 calorie snack, a 190 calorie shake for lunch, a 100 calorie snack, a 500 calorie dinner and another 100 calorie snack at least 3 hours before bed. I will be drinking tons of water, and I've switched my soda to Pepsi Max so I'm not getting any calorie's from my drinks.
Now, there will be days I occasionally cheat. I'll make sure I report that! But I believe the groundwork of a good diet is to allow for the occasional cheat. If you don't then I think you end up binging. I will have a yummy breakfast of pancakes sometimes and eat out every once in awhile for dinner, which will probably put my dinner calories over.
Almost forgot! Exercise. I really hate that word. I hurt my shoulder again, so this may yet again have to be postponed :-( I plan to walk on the treadmill on Tom's days off for 30 minutes and do work out video's on the days he does work. I would really like to join the Y in my area because they have a really great daycare facility that will watch Kaylee while I work out. This would be so much easier for me, and great for Kaylee because she would get some socialization. But sadly, I can't afford it right now :-( Someday!
