So, I read these articles all of the time about parents who have picky eaters and getting their kid to eat veggies.
Well, I have the opposite problem. My daughter doesn’t want to eat meat, ever. She’s a vegetarian. She loves all vegetables, except squash and cucumber, and all fruits, except peaches. But for the life of me I can’t get this girl to eat her protein. We give her meat at dinner every night and she just eats around it, consuming all of the veggies and noodles on her tray. She used to eat eggs and then just stopped one day. God forbid someone tell her that milk has protein in it, as she would probably stop drinking that too!
Today we had to take her to the doctor because she got some splinters that we can’t get out. I asked her Pediatrician about the not wanting to eat protein and at least she did say for the most part it’s okay. Plenty of people are healthy being vegetarians, but she needs to get her B12 from somewhere so now she’s on a multivitamin. That’s on top if the iron that she already takes. No wonder she needs iron, she’s not eating red meat!
So, here is myself and my husband who by far are huge carnivores. We’d much rather eat a juicy steak any day and actually both hate salads along with most veggies and we somehow gave birth to a vegetarian. If she weren’t so perfect and awesome I might take her back to the hospital and ask if there was a mistake. Of course that’s a little impossible since she looks just like her daddy and has her mommy’s hair.
My little Vegetarian!

Todd and I were talking about this and he said that it took Emily a while to like meat. He thinks it has to do with the texture of it so maybe Kaylee won't always be a vegetarian :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dolli ... if you really are interested in how different your lovely wee daughter is then i suggest you watch part 2 of the DVD Healing Cancer from the inside out by Mike Anderson and be prepared to be Absolutely Amazed at her inbuilt intelligence and forsight ... It might be something you would like to write about too ..
