It's Good to Be King

Well, not really.  This is not a job I would ever wish for.  Is there any President, King or leader in the world that is respected by all of their people and every single move they make is not questioned (in current times)?

I find it hilarious that every time a bill is passed and everything that goes wrong in this country are blamed on Obama.  Poor guy.  I mean seriously!

The Dow dropped.  Damn you Obama!

The economy sucks.  Damn you Obama!

My health insurance went up.  Damn you Obama!

The wind blew my tree over.  Damn you Obama!

Look, I'm not saying the guy is a saint.  No President is perfect and they all make mistakes.  But in all honesty, they don't decide everything on their own.  We don't have a Dictatorship, it's a Democracy.  What that means is that we have a whole congress and senate that are involved in the law and bill making process.

Do people even understand how this all works?

I really feel like they don't.  All I hear constantly is how electing Obama was a mistake.  Our economy was screwed before he became President.  In fact our economy hasn't been good since Clinton was in office.  Obama is attempting to take steps to help our economy but it's pretty screwed.  And our deficit is amazing!  I'm not going to voice my opinion as to why because it might get me tarred and feathered by people I care a great deal about.

Congress raises taxes on people who make a lot of money.  They complain because they don't want to pay more taxes.  Well, how else do you think the government is going to come up with money?  Does this mean you can't buy another TV this year?  Or a new car?  Oh darn...  I can't afford to buy a damn potty training chair for my daughter or fresh fruits and vegetables...

Congress made changes to health insurance.  Most insurance companies raised rates.  People will now be able to go to the doctor for routine check ups without paying a co-pay (and many other cool things).  Do you know how many years I went without going to the doctor because I couldn't afford the damn co-pays?  I'm sorry your insurance raised your rates, they shouldn't have done that.  But that's not Congress's fault.  It's your insurance companies fault.

Ah and here is the final and great one that really bothers me.  Military workers are getting a smaller raise this year than normal.  There are millions of people without jobs, and millions more that haven't received a raise in 5 years.  I understand these are the people that serve our country and put their lives on the line for us.  I thank them for that.  But they at least got a raise, and they already make a great deal more money than the average American.  I would just be happy to have a job right now, and receiving any sort of raise should be seen as a bonus.  And let the tarring and feathering commence.  I have a lot of friends and family in the military so I hope they're not mad at me.  I usually just keep my mouth shut when it comes to this stuff.

Well, that's about what I wanted to say.  Maybe we could all try to see the other side of things.  You know - Walk a mile in anothers shoes, before we make up our mind about things.  That's my wish.  Try to be a little more open minded.
